Zimbabwe woman ‘s rugby national team, the Lady Sables have suffered a 24-27 defeat against Tunisia in the Rugby Africa division one cup in Ivory Coast yesterday.
Zimbabwean fans’ hearts were broken early during the first as the Lady Sables had a rocky start first half after falling short by 5-17 on halftime.
Despite falling short in the first half, the Lady Sables gathered their momentum to recover the score gap, managing to narrow the loss to 24-27 in full time.
The Lady sables have now played 2 matches, a 27-24 defeat against Tunisia and a 48 – 8 victory against the host Ivory Coast.
The Rugby Africa Cup division one tournament serves as a qualification to the Rugby Africa Cup, as the winner will join South Africa, Madagascar and Kenya in the competition. The Sables will have to pull up their socks in their next match and secure a victory.
Meanwhile Zimbabwe is set host Kenya, Namibia and Tunisia for the Male U20 Barthes Trophy 2025 at the Old Hararians Sports Club.
The U20 tournament is scheduled to run from the 19th to the 27th April.
