Gospel artist Mambo Dhuterere is making headlines once again after allegedly abandoning his heavily pregnant wife, Dorcas Vambe, better known as Mai Dhuterere. This family drama has taken an intriguing twist with the involvement of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, whose name has surfaced in the scandal.
Sources close to the couple reveal that tensions began to rise when Dhuterere learned of his wife’s pregnancy with their fifth child. The situation reportedly escalated when the gospel singer supposedly blamed his wife for a string of misfortunes, including a lost opportunity to acquire a luxury vehicle from Chivayo.
“ He accuses her of bringing bad luck into his life. After losing out on the car deal with Wicknell Chivayo, he held her responsible, which has strained their relationship significantly. This fallout is not just affecting them, but the kids as well,” said the source.
The couple’s relationship reportedly deteriorated further following Mai Dhuterere’s arrest in a fraud case over US$16,000 in December 2024. She is facing charges alongside her brother for allegedly deceiving someone under the pretense of facilitating the purchase of a Toyota Hilux GD6 from Botswana a deal that turned out to be fraudulent.
Adding to her distress, Mai Dhuterere recently endured a burglary at her home, where thieves stole her phone and laptop, although her passport was later found discarded in her garden.
A source revealed that when the couple first came together, Mai Dhuterere had a child from a prior relationship, which Mambo agreed to adopt. However, over time, his behavior changed, leading to increased distance in their relationship.
“He has completely changed and started spending more time with friends, claiming he is running errands,” the source noted.
This is not the first instance of rumors concerning Mambo Dhuterere’s marriage; allegations of infidelity arose last year, indicating that their union may be on shaky ground.
As the saying goes, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” prompting speculation about the stability of the couple’s relationship goes through tumultuous waters once again.
