Courage Zimuto, a 27-year-old man from Harare, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for cutting TelOne cables, violating the Postal and Telecommunications Act. He was convicted and sentenced by the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
According to reports from the NPAZ, Zimuto proceeded to a house in Meyrick Park, Harare, where he cut TelOne drop wires, two white insulators, and two pieces of twenty-pair copper cables.
While he was committing the offense, a passerby spotted him, apprehended him, and took him to the police.
The stolen cables were valued at USD 400.
