Coach Rutherford Matondo has made a return to Dulibadzimu United on 17 June 2026 ahead of the Beitbridge derby between Vhembe Stars Academy and Dulibadzimu United.

The Beitbridge outfit confirmed the return of their former coach from Matobo FC, highlighting that his experience and passion for the game will be key to the team’s success.

“Coach Matondo rejoins us from FC Matobo, having led our team last season with passion and purpose. He knows the badge. He knows what the Soweto End demands.
This is home. This is family. This is unfinished business.Welcome back, Coach. The work begins now,” read the Dulibadzimu United statement.

Matondo also confirmed his return to his former club, highlighting that he has already begun his journey with the Beitbridge side.

Prior to his second stint, Matondo left Dulibadzimu United in July 2025, joining Hard Rock FC, who went on to be promoted to the Premier Soccer League from the Central Region Soccer League.

Matondo first took charge of Dulibadzimu United in January 2025 and recorded 9 victories, 3 draws, and 4 defeats in the entire first half of the Central Region Soccer League Division One season.

In his career, he has previously been at the helm of Matobo, ZPC Munyati, TelOne, Dulibadzimu United, and many more.

Matondo returns to a familiar Beitbridge environment ahead of the derby between Dulibadzimu United and Vhembe Stars Academy this Saturday.

He will face an incentivised Vhembe Stars Academy whose President Loadwell Ziyaduma has entered the arena and pledged R100,000 for his players to win.

Matondo ia a known disciplinarian expected to change the fortunes of Duliz who have a strong squad whose players lack seriousness.
