The Meteorological Services Department has issued a warning to the public of a cold spell that is expected to start today until the 12th of June covering most of teh country. The chilling weather is anticipated to start in the Southern parts of the country before spreading countrywide.
According to the Met Department’s statement, the cold weather will be characterised by frost especially in the morning, with sub 3 degrees temperatures, windy , cold and drizzly conditions across the nation.
In its caution to Zimbabweans, the weather man urged the people to “dress warmly and ensure vulnerable members of society are kept warm, drink hot beverages whenever possible to keep warm and consult medical practitioners in case of health challenges.”
The cold weather pattern is being caused by a significant rise in wind pressure over the south-east coast of Southern Africa
