Several Zimbabwean football fans have expressed frustratation after Warrior’s tacticians snubbed Dynamos player Vusa Ngwenya, in favour of Scottland ‘s ‘average performer’ Nathan Mutasa who was drafted last minute to the COSAFA 2025 squad.
Fans blasted the selection on social media after Ngwenya’s surprise omission paved the way for Scotland FC’s Nathan Mutasa, who had underwhelmed in the previous match against Mwos FC and has rarely featured in the league.
Expressing frustration, one fan stated that, “ It’s all about connections in Zimbabwe , he doesn’t even deserve to be in the squad because the likes Billy Veremu who are scoring in and out are left behind. The most painful one is that Zimbabwe needs a winning squad but our tacticians are using nepotism and favouritism which will not give us results. What went wrong with Ngwenya.”
The inclusion of socialite , Pokelo Nare ‘s son Mutasa has sparked huge controversy and raised questions about the criteria used to select the national team as fans raise questions on the criteria used to select players given Mutasa has struggled for a place at Scottland.
