Former Northern Region Soccer League side, Mwos FC have made an unexpected entry into the Premier Soccer League, acquiring the ZPC Hwange franchise and marking the beginning of a  new chapter ahead of the 2025 PSL season.

Mwos FC took their social media to confirm their surprising  entry into the PSL through a ‘strategic partnership’ with ZPC Hwange.

“ Big News! We’re beyond excited to announce our strategic football development partnership with ZPC Hwange FC which will see MWOS FC gaining participation rights into the PSL this year. As we gear up for our Premier Soccer League debut in 2025, we’re not just aiming for the stars—we’re committed to uplifting grassroots football across Zimbabwe! Together, we’ll invest in youth programs, enhance facilities, and empower local talent to shine on the big stage.Join us on this thrilling journey as we elevate Zimbabwean football and create a brighter future for aspiring players. Let’s make history together,” Mwos stated.

Meanwhile, ZPC Hwange will focus on grassroots football development in the Southern region as Mwos joins the top flight elites club.

 Additionally, this collaboration marks a new era in football development in Zimbabwe,as the combination of resources and technical expertise of Mwos FC and the specialized competencies of ZPC Hwange will create mutually opportunities for both clubs.

The partnership also includes financial capacitation for ZPC Hwange to compete in the region and a special recognition program for ZPC Hwange ‘s 2024 squad including investments in the youth football development programs.

Following Mwos FC ‘s entry into the Zimbabwean top flight, it means  fans will witness the  re -establishment of Mwos and Scottland FC ‘s rivalry .

Mwos FC and Scottland birthed   their rivalry during their Northern Region Soccer Lague, a  neck to neck fight for promotion that had to be decided via a boardroom.
