MINISTER of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe, has urged youths in Beitbridge to formalize their businesses and transform them into sustainable enterprises, citing the need for economic discipline and long-term growth.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network at the Tshilidzi Youth Defining Tomorrow Summit on Saturday, Nguluvhe encouraged young people to move beyond “hustling” and adopt structured business practices that contribute meaningfully to the economy.
“Youths must be united. Formalisation is key to growth, Funding, investment stability, and long-term success,” he said.
Chairperson and Director of Programmes of Tshilidzi Development Trust, Jubilant Mangaba, said the organisation aims to uplift youths by ensuring partnerships and formalizing the informal businesses of young people.
“We invited our honourable Minister A Ngulube and different stakeholders to give commitments and vision to Beitbridge youths to formalize their hustles to enterprise to get investments from the government and different organizations.”
He also encouraged youths to partner with government institutions and take advantage of empowerment programmes supporting start-ups and small businesses.
A representative of the Zimbabwe Youth Council, Godwin Mazarire, emphasized the importance of registering associations.
“We encourage the Youth to be organised and as a council we coordinate and network youth into entrepreneurship ” he said.
Beitbridge-based economist G. Moyo said the town offers wide opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
“Beitbridge has a broad economic field for youth to venture into entrepreneurship, rather than depending on informal business, Youths should formalise the way they do business in the present day,” he said.
A local youth, Mpho Nyathi, welcomed the initiative and commended the minister and organisers.
“We appreciate our Honorable Minister, Mr. A. Nguluvhe, for giving us a chance to partner with him and take advantage of the platform created together with the Tshilidzi Youth Development Association,” he said.
The summit brought together young entrepreneurs, community associations, and stakeholders to discuss innovation, business development, and the role of youth in shaping Beitbridge’s economic future.
