A 32-year-old parolee on his way home allegedly raped a 72 year old granny who broke down in court while giving evidence against the man.
Dickens Ncube, the accused man, is denying the case saying he was on his way from prison on March 7 and did not rape Lydia Ndou, 40 years his senior.
In the ongoing trial before Regional Magistrate Charity Maphosa, Ndou broke down after giving her evidence and said she could not continue looking at Ncube.
It pained her to see him, she said.
Allegations are that Ncube of Madzivhe Village under Chief Tshitaudze saw Ndou at around 8:30 am at her home where she was doing laundry.
Soon after she went to her garden for fresh mealies and he pounced sexually assaulting her once.
He left but quickly turned back to ask if she knew him but she said she did not.
At the same time she captured his looks.
As he left she screamed catching the attention of Maria Ndou who came running with some dogs but Ncube fled the scene.
He was later accounted for by other villagers who arrested him.
Under cross examination Ndou insisted seeing a yellow short and a track bottom with stripes, incidentally what Ncube wore when he was arrested.
Ncube disputed the colour of stripes but Ndou insisted it was him because when he turned to ask if she knew him.
He also said he was coming from prison on the day and there was no way he could have done that having undergone rehabilitation.
The trial continues.
