The President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Shezhen, China for a state visit ahead of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation to be held in Beijing. The President is expected to visit two other provinces after Shezhen before attending the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

China has been Zimbabwe’s pillar of strength in the last double decade when the Western World dumped Harare in protest over the latter’s fast track land reform program. The Asian giant has been the leading investor in the country pouring in billions of dollars in mining , energy and several other sectors of the Zimababwean economy.

It is expected that the Zimababwean leader will negotiate even more deals with the Chinese to increase investments especially in minining and energy sectors seen to be crucial for the President’s Vision 2030 of an upper middle income economy by 2030.
