FIFA has lifted the transfer ban imposed on Highlanders FC, following the club’s settling of outstanding debts to former coach Baltemar Brito and his assistant, Antonio Joao Torres.


As part of the FIFA ban, Highlanders were suctioned to stop signing players but ,thanks to the controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo the Bulawayo giants are free from the debt after Chivayo paid the full US$27, 000 debt.


Bosso took to their social media to confirm that the FIFA transfer ban has been lifted, and club is now able to register new players. Bosso also appriciated Chivayo for his financial support.


“Finally, the wait is over!We are delighted to announce that the FIFA ban has been lifted, thanks to the efforts of a dedicated FIFA team as everything has been resolved.Once again, a special thank you to Sir Wicknell Chivayo for facilitating the payment.With this hurdle cleared, we can now register our new signings,” Highlanders FC stated.


Bosso are not the only club haunted by the ghost of former employees, the Miracle boys, Yadah FC have also been subjected to a FIFA transfer ban, which was imposed last year after they failed to pay three Brazilian players’ salaries and unfairly dismissed them.


As part of the sanctions, Yadah will not make any new signing until they have settled their debt with the Brazilians.
