After a successful three year stint with the South Africa Broadcast Corporation, former South Africa Women’s team captain Simphiwe Dludlu has bade farewell to SABC Sport, concluding her final broadcast last night on Soccer Zone.
SABC announced the departure of Dludlu, a well respected football voice, who brought the significant impact and depth of football knowledge.
“SABC Sport announces the departure of Simphiwe Dludlu, respected broadcaster, former Banyana Banyana captain, and one of South Africa’s most prominent voices in football,” SABC stated.
Throughout her tenure at SABC Sport, Simphiwe served as lead analyst and commentator for the SABC’s broadcast of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, AFCON 2024, the CAF Women’s Champions League, Bafana Bafana matches, FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, AFCON 2025 qualifiers and the COSAFA Women’s Championships and on weekends doing analysis for PSL matches on SABC Sport, among others.
Simphiwe ‘s next destination is not yet confirmed however speculation has been rising in the South African football circles tipping her to be the next Banyana Banyana coach.
