After months of waiting, the much anticipated draw for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is almost here with only six days left. Set for Monday January the 27th, the draw has Zimbabwean soccer lovers in glee as the Warriors will be one of the teams in the pot.
The draw will be held in Rabat Morocco.
The final draw will consist of 24 teams that will be placed into 6 pools, with each pool containing 4 teams. The top two teams from each group will automatically qualify for the knockout stages and will be joined by four best third place teams.
The final draw reveals each and every team ‘s opponents and also provide them the chance to access the match venues, training facilities and hotel infrastructure.
Historically , AFCON Morocco 2025 is the 35th edition of the tournament , since it started in 1957. It is the third oldest continental competition in football behind South America (1916) and Asia (1956).
Morocco will be hosting the AFCON for the first time since 1988 as Africans celebrates an exciting time for the North African nation, who are also co-hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup along with Spain and Portugal.
