A Beitbridge woman has been granted 12 months peace order against another woman she accused of repeatedly insulting and harassing her over a dispute involving her husband whose clothes the respondent spat on.
Privilege Ndlovu appeared before Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni on Thursday seeking a peace order against Hlonipile Mhlahla.
In her application, Ndlovu told the court that Mhlahla continuously insulted her and was allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with her husband.
She said Mhlahla would spit on her husband’s clothes, verbally abuse her, and visit her workplace and house at house number 5423, Mbedzi, Beitbridge Township, where she would allegedly insult her in public.
“She comes to my workplace and insults me. She also spits on my husband’s clothes and constantly harasses me,” Ndlovu told the court.
In her response, Mhlahla denied deliberately seeking contact with Ndlovu.
She said she resides at house number 5418 and uses the same road when travelling to work.
She further said the place where she buys meat for her dinner is the same location where Ndlovu works, making it difficult to avoid crossing paths.
After hearing submissions from both parties, Kaweni granted the peace order in favour of Ndlovu.
The court barred Mhlahla from speaking to or insulting Ndlovu and from visiting her home or workplace.
The order will remain in force for a period of 12 months.
