South Africa s Betway premiership side SuperSport united has officially announced the signing of Zimbabwean teenage striker Nokutenda Mangezi from Real Betis academy.
The 19 year old, Mangezi has followed in the footsteps of the likes of Knowledge Musona by going straight from an academy into the South African Premiership. The then young Musona joined Soweto giants Kaizer chiefs straight from Aces Youth Academy immediately taking the Super Diski by storm.
According SuperSport United FC the young player has joined the team on a one year deal with option to renew his contract.
Mangezi will wear jersey number 9 and is set to make his debut against Mamelodi Sundowns during the upcoming Tshwane derby. The young player is expected to play an important role at the Tswane given that veteran striker Bradley Grobler is in a long term absentee due to injury. Matsantsatsa Apitol as SuperSport is affectionately known is also home to the Zimbabwean duo of Terrence Dzukamanja and Onismor Bhasera.
Several players from Zimbabwe have made a significant impact in the South African Premier League, names that immediately come to mind include Khama Billiat during his time in Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer chiefs, Esrom Nyandoro and Marshall Munetsi who all had a successful stint in the PSL
