The speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda has made a formal announcement to the National Assembly that treasury has availed Constituency Development Funds (CDF) and the MP’s can start making their applications for the CDF.
The CDF are funds allocated to each constituency by Government through treasury and is administered by MPs for the development of their constituencies.
Members of Parliament are thus required to start tendering their applications for the funds and have got until the 30th of November 2024 to make sure their papers are in.
Treasury will disburse an amount equivalent to US$50,000 in local currency to all Zimbabwe constituencies based on the exchange rate on the day of disbursement for development purposes
Beitbridge has two constituencies and community members are eagerly waiting for the development of several matters in their constituencies.
Aggregated responses from community members of the two constituencies have shown that they would prefer most of the funds to be channeled towards addressing the water crises facing communities of these two constituencies.
