A new chapter is unfolding for Beitbridge-based football club Vhembe Stars Academy, which is set to unveil Ubuntu Driving School as its latest sponsor in a partnership expected to strengthen the club’s development ambitions and deepen its ties with the local community.

The sponsorship agreement runs until the end of the 2026 season, with club officials expressing optimism that the partnership will be renewed and strengthened as the relationship between the two organisations grows.

The sponsorship was confirmed on Wednesday by Vhembe Stars Academy Secretary General Foster Abeki, who described the deal as more than just a financial arrangement, highlighting its importance in promoting community support and the continued growth of the club.

“We are set to unveil our new sponsor, Ubuntu Driving School. You can expect to see their brand name on our shirts too. This is more than a sponsorship. it signals the growth of the club and the strong friendship we have with the community,” Abeki said.

Ubuntu Driving School joins an expanding list of brands associated with Vhembe Stars Academy, including Ziyah Media, Defy and Kings, among other notable partners.

The latest partnership comes at an important time for the club as it continues to build its football structures and provide opportunities for players across different age groups.

Vhembe Stars Academy’s senior team competes in the Central Region Soccer League Division One, while its Under-19 side plays in Division Two.

The academy also runs junior teams for both boys and girls, reflecting its commitment to grassroots football development.

Beyond the immediate benefits of sponsorship, the partnership with Ubuntu Driving School highlights the important role that local businesses can play in the development of community football.

Such collaborations can help clubs strengthen their operations, improve their ability to support players and create greater visibility for their sponsors.

For a growing academy like Vhembe Stars, sponsorships can also contribute to building a more sustainable football environment in which young players receive opportunities to develop their talent and progress through the ranks.
At the same time, sponsors benefit from increased brand exposure, community engagement and an association with youth development and sporting excellence.

The partnership therefore represents an opportunity for both organisations to grow together, with Vhembe Stars Academy gaining another supporter of its football ambitions while Ubuntu Driving School strengthens its presence within the Beitbridge community.

In the coming weeks, the academy’s Under-16 Queens team is expected to travel to Bulawayo to participate in the Munhumutapa Junior League national competitions, scheduled for November 19–22, 2026.

The tournament presents an important opportunity for the young players to showcase their talent on a national platform while gaining valuable competitive experience.

It also offers a glimpse into the potential of the academy’s female football programme and the importance of investing in young athletes.

For potential sponsors, supporting a club with teams competing across different levels of football provides an opportunity to connect with a broad sporting audience while contributing to the development of future talent.

The new partnership is therefore not only a milestone for Vhembe Stars Academy and Ubuntu Driving School but also a positive signal for community driven investment in sport, youth development and the future of football in Beitbridge.
