Zimbabwe snapped a crucial 1-0 victory against Namibia in their AFCON 2025 qualifiers at Orlando stadium in South Africa through a first half strike by comeback kid Khama Billiat.

Yadah FC‘s Khama Billiat scored the only goal of the match from penalty the spot after Jordan Zemura was fouled inside the penalty box .The 1 nil victory has taken the Warriors to the top of their group J standings on five points ahead of Kenya and Cameron who are level on four points whilst the Brave Warriors are currently anchoring the log with no points on the board.

Cameroon and Kenya clash later today and a win for either side will take the Zimbabwe Warriors to second spot.

Despite the victory against the Brave Warriors, Zimbabwe football fans have expressed their views branding the win an unconvincing victory since Warriors are yet to score from an open play. In contrast to the neat passing game displayed by the Warriors in their first two matches, the team gave their fans a disjointed performance that lacked pace and akin to a tired team.

However, Warriors coach Michael Nees after the match explained that victory was more important than victory was than just displaying fancy football

‘Today was not about pretty football, it was about getting the job done and putting points on the, come November, we want our destiny to be in our own hands’ Nees said.

Elsewhere, Botswana secured a surprise 1 nil victory against a much fancied Cape Verde side. The victory by the Zebras underscored that there are no longer minnows in football.

Many fans reacted to the unlikely victory which is why football is called the world’s most beautiful because of such magical moments.

In other results, a star studded Ghana was held to a goalless draw against Sudan, with stars like Mohamed Kudus feeling the pressure that comes with wearing the Black Stars badge. Here is a full list of results for matches played yesterday in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The group J is still widely open, with Cameron set to face Kenya later today that is why warrior’s fans are edging the Zimbabwean boys to pull up their socks and increase their scoring pace.

Elsewhere on the other qualification groups ,Botswana displayed wonders as they secures a victory against Cape Verde ,fans across platforms labeled it as a surprise win that they didn’t even imagine to be possible which is why football called a beautiful game ,magical moments are displayed .

On the other side Ghana with a goalless draw against Sudan, with stars like Mohamed Kudus feeling the pressure of wearing the giant‘s badge with poor results displayed.
