Harare, Zimbabwe – Head of delegation of the Republic of Rwanda, to the Mid Term Review meeting on the second joint permanent commission on cooperation between Rwanda and Zimbabwe, has expressed solidarity with Zimbabwe as the country battles the impact of the El Nino induced drought, calling for coordinated efforts to deal with climate change.
“May I also take this opportunity, to express our solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe during this challenging period of severe drought caused by the El Nino induced effects. Our thoughts are with you in these difficult times. As climate change worsens globally and in Southern Africa particularly, urgent actions on the climate emergency are imperative,” said Ambassador Musoni
Ambassador Musoni praised the progress made in various fields of collaboration, including political and diplomatic relations, education, defence and security, energy, and trade and investment sectors. He highlighted notable achievements, such as the exchange of educational personnel and senior and junior officers in the army and correctional services, and the completion of the pilot street lighting project in Harare.
The Ambassador also emphasised the importance of translating the wishes and aspirations of leaders into practicable solutions and commended the delegates and members of the Joint Commission for their dedication to fostering cooperation between the two nations.
