Zimbabwean Rugby star Victor Mupunga aged 26, has secured a two-year contract with French rugby club Bourg-en-Bresse.
Mupunga’s move to the club, which competes in the Nationale division marks a significant step in his professional career.
Mupunga’s signing further strengthens the Zimbabwean presence in France. He will be linking up with fellow Sables players such as Shane Makombe, Riaan O’Neill, Cleopas Kundiona, Tapiwa Tsomondo and Shingi Katsevere, who are already playing in various divisions across the European country.
Mupunga’s move to Bourg-en-Bresse presents an exciting challenge and opportunity to test himself in a new rugby culture and contribute to his club’s ambitions in the Nationale division.
The Zimbabwean international is expected to play for the Sables, who aim to defend their Rugby Africa Cup title in July and secure an automatic ticket to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
