A 26-year-old man from Zvimba has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a 6 year old girl from Chief Chirau’s area.
The incident occurred when the offender attacked the minor while she was walking home from school. He greeted her, before tripping her onto an anthill.
When she fell down, he removed her school uniform and underwear before raping her once.
After the assault, the offender threatened the minor not to report the incident and ran away into a nearby Gumtree plantation.
The girl went home and told her mother, who took her to Zvimba Police Station to file a report.
