A 20-year-old man, Fidelis Chipungu, has been convicted by the Zvishavane Magistrates’ Court for violating the ZIMSEC Act.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), states that on the 26th of May 2025, Fidelis Chipungu a 20 year old man residing in Zvishavane, went to George Chipadza Secondary School and impersonated Hilton Malunga to write the Mathematics Paper 1 ZIMSEC examination.

He used Hilton Malunga’s national identity card to gain entry. After the exam, the offender was summoned to the Deputy Headmaster’s office where he admitted to writing the examination on behalf of Hilton Malunga.

The invigilator reported the matter to the police leading to Chipungu subsequent arrest.

He was sentenced to 2 months imprisonment wholly suspended on condition that he performs 70 hours of community service.
