Gweru-A Zvishavane man has been slapped with an 18 year jail term after conviction and sentencing by the High Court at Gweru.
The NPA reports that Norbert Mhlanga struck his wife after financial disagreement where he assaulted the deceased with open hands several times all over her body before dragging her outside where he struck her three times on head using a hoe.
A misunderstanding arose between Norbert Mhlanga and the complainant who were at their homestead at Tagwirei village, Chief Mazvihwa, Zvishavane.
The now deceased had bought a satchel using the money she had been given by the accused person for relish.
The misunderstanding escalated and the accused person assaulted the deceased with open hands several times all over the body before dragging her outside where he struck her three times on the head using a hoe.
He also struck her with bricks all over the body and she died on the spot.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Norbert Mhlanga.
