In a move that has sent tongues wagging across the political landscape, newly co-opted ZANU PF Harare Central committee member, Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei, has visited the Harare provincial headquarters where he met the top leadership and pledged material and financial support for the administration of the province’s party head office.
The businessman-turned-politician, who has vast business interests locally and internationally, has sparked intense speculation about his political ambitions since his cooption by Harare province.
During a high-profile meeting at the Harare Province ZANU-PF Headquarters, Dr. Tagwirei pledged substantial resources to strengthen party leadership and operational capacity. His pledges including Injecting funds into the province’s development fund, securing monthly contributions from 15 business associates, financing the renovation of Harare party provincial offices to global standards.
He also handed over vehicles to the party’s top provincial members including District Coordinating Committee chairpersons who are set to receive theirs today. This is on top of introducing sitting allowances for Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC)
These pledges have fueled speculation that Dr. Tagwirei might be positioning himself for a top leadership role within the party. His business acumen and financial muscle are seen as assets that could potentially propel him to greater heights in politics.
