Acting President, Hon. Gen. (Retd) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, has paid tribute to the late Brigadier General (Rtd) Shadreck Dingaan Ndabambi, reminding Zimbabweans to honour the sacrifices of people like the late, through commitment to national development and the growth of the Zimbabwean currency.

The Acting President was speaking at the burial of the late Brigadier General at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.

“Many Zimbabweans lost their lives fighting for the Independence that we enjoy and cherish today.  It is, therefore, the duty and obligation of all of us who are still alive to guard our independence and sovereignty jealously. We should honour those that ignited and championed the struggle for our freedom by emulating their exemplary conduct and leadership to carry Zimbabwe forward,” he said.

Dr Chiwenga also urged Zimbabweans to embrace the leadership of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to transform and modernize the economy.

“As we accelerate toward our economic emancipation, I call upon the nation to rally behind the visionary leadership of our iconic leader, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, as we leave no stone unturned in our thrust to transform, modernise and grow the economy of our country to the Zimbabwe we all want

Highlighting the strides made under the Second Republic, the Acting President pointed to significant infrastructural developments as pivotal steps toward industrialization and economic emancipation of the Zimbabwean people.

“These projects are not just structures; they symbolize the sacrifices made by our forbearers, including the late General Ndabambi,” he stated, calling for collective action to keep the spirit of economic revolution alive.

As Zimbabwe mourns the loss of Brigadier General Ndabambi, Dr Chiwenga concluded with a poignant reminder of the leader’s legacy: “He will be remembered as a hardworking, disciplined, and humble general, whose selflessness and dedication to our nation will be dearly missed.”
