Award-winning South African TV and radio presenter Anele Mdoda has tied the knot, marrying Bonelela Buzza James, a Xhosa prince and lawyer.

Details of the traditional Xhosa wedding emerged on social media, with pictures posted by close friend and author Khaya Dlanga.  Dlanga subsequently deleted the images.

The couple, who were dressed in traditional attire, celebrated their union in a ceremony steeped in Xhosa customs.  While Mdoda hasn’t yet shared official photos, glimpses into the special day were provided through Instagram stories showcasing guests, including prominent personalities like Zikhona Sodlaka and Noxolo Zinyana.

The festivities were further highlighted by the presence of esteemed attendees such as celebrity chef and influencer Neo Nontso and broadcaster Sizwe Dhlomo.

Award-winning musician Ringo Madlingozi performed, reportedly bringing James to tears during the celebrations.  The event was also marked by the presence of Mdoda’s father’s wife, Noxolo Zinyana.

A video of cows entering a homestead further adds to the traditional elements of the celebration.

Khaya Dlanga, sharing insight on the occasion on Twitter, wrote, “Today was a good day. God bless the union. God bless the families.”

This sentiment echoes Mdoda’s previous declaration on her radio show, “Anele and the Club,” where she enthusiastically stated her engagement, following reports of a blossoming relationship.

Mdoda and James were reportedly seen bonding with each other’s families, attending numerous gatherings, including the local premiere of “Mufasa: The Lion King.”
