Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi Chiwenga, the wife of Vice President Chiwenga, has been appointed one of the official judges for this year’s Miss Universe Finals, set for Thailand, a groundbreaking milestone celebrated across Zimbabwe and the African continent.
In a historic achievement, Colonel Baloyi Chiwenga becomes the first non-model judge from Africa to sit on the prestigious Miss Universe panel.
Her appointment marks a significant step toward broader representation and the inclusion of diverse professional backgrounds on the global beauty and leadership stage.
Sharing her excitement, she wrote:
“Guys I can’t keep calm! I am one of the Judges for the Miss Universe Finals in Thailand!”
The news was further confirmed by the official Miss Universe Facebook page, which posted:

Fluent in six languages and known as the first woman to command a UN peacekeeping platoon in Angola, she continues to inspire through her work in education, healthcare, sustainability, and the fashion industry.

Baloyi selection is being hailed as a monumental moment for Zimbabwe a celebration of leadership, representation, and African excellence on a world stage.
