 A memorial service will be held today, February 14, 2025, at Doves Chapel in Beitbridge District to commemorate the lives of 25 people lost in a fatal road traffic accident.

The tragic incident, declared a national disaster, deeply impacted the community and the nation.

Families of the deceased are gathering to remember their loved ones and find solace in shared grief.

The service aims to provide a space for mourning, reflection, and healing.

Several high-ranking government officials are expected to attend the memorial.

The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Matabeleland South Province, will be present, along with a representative delivering a statement on behalf of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development.

The Chief Mourner will be the Minister of Local Government and Public Works. Their presence underscores the government’s recognition of the tragedy’s significance and its commitment to supporting the bereaved families.
