The famous Boterekwa road famed for its beautiful scenery, is becoming a death trap as it is on the verge of collapsing due to the illegal and regularized mining mushrooming around the mountain. Pictures of a huge crater like depression have emerged showing how the road has been giving
The road is a busy one used by different people coming and out of Zimbabwe. Sections of the road have developed crater like holes as a result of the mining putting the lives of motorist at risk.
Motorist using the road are better advised to exercise extreme caution or better still find alternative routes to use.
Illegal mining activities have for long threatened crucial infrastructure such as buildings and roads. A classroom block at a school in Kwekwe carved in after a tunnel had been dug underneath by illegal gold miners.
In Kwekwe and Kadoma some school infrastructure has been abandoned after being deemed unsafe as a result of illegal mining operations.
