AT least 720 deportees have arrived at Beitbridge from South Africa and these were all known to have been kept at Lindela Repatriation Centre prior to their ejection.
All of these were ferried by buses to the Beitbridge Reception centre for vetting and release.
The Lindela Repatriation Centre is South Africa’s primary holding facility for undocumented and illegal migrants awaiting deportation.
Located in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg, the centralized compound can house up to 4,000 detainees. More to follow…
