BULLDOGS Club will host the second edition of its handball tournament at Beitbridge Government Primary School from August 22 to 23, with youth teams invited to register.
Running under the theme “Glory On The Line,”the tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for young players while promoting the growth of handball in the district.
Tournament Coordinator Lucas Mapako said preparations were progressing well ahead of the event.
“Preparations are going well. We have started advertising the second edition and we are almost ready to go,” he said.
He also said, this year’s tournament would recognise outstanding coaches through support from the Handball 263 brand.
“This year’s tournament will award the best coaches, powered by the Handball 263 brand. The aim is to meet handball standards reached by international players, groom young players and, most importantly, keep them away from drugs and substance abuse,” he said.
Handball player Dominic Ndou said, more young people should take up the sport, saying it offers both physical and personal development.
“I always feel great participating in these games because they build our skills and experience for national tournaments. All I can say is that youths should invest in handball because it is refreshing and keeps them fit physically and mentally,” he said.
