The draw for the Total Energies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers is set to take place in Cairo on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
According to CAF Media, the draw will commence at 14:00 Cairo time (11:00 GMT) and will determine the match-ups for the upcoming qualifiers.
This year’s CHAN qualifiers will consist of just two rounds, both played on a home-and-away basis.
The first round is scheduled for the weekend of October 25-27 and November 1-3, 2024, while the second round will take place from December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024.
The 2024 edition of CHAN will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025. Senegal, the reigning champions, will be looking to defend their title after their dramatic victory over Algeria in the previous tournament, winning 5-4 on penalties.
In addition to the CHAN draw, the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup group stage draws are also scheduled for October 7, 2024.
The Confederation Cup draw will begin at 13:00 Cairo time (11:00 GMT), followed by the Champions League draw at 14:00 local time (11:00 GMT).
As anticipation builds for the upcoming qualifiers and tournaments, fans are eager to see how their national teams will fare in the quest for continental glory in a competition that gives limelight to locally based players.
