The confederation of African Football has launched a new look and innovative  African Cup of Nations Under 17 Trophy ahead of the tournament which begin this week.

The trophy features a road-like structure symbolizing the player’s path, integrated with the map of Africa to reflect continental pride and unity.

“Trophy Reveal! A new look for the  CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025.the trophy symbolizes the young players’ path, integrated with the map of Africa to reflect continental pride and unity,” CAF stated.

This trophy structure marks the beginning of the journey for the young African football talent which will be on display in the prestigious tournament. It also symbolises the early steps  they take towards achieving legendary status in sport.

Meanwhile, the tournament is set to start on March 30 to 19 April in Morocco.  The host nation and last year runners up Morocco will battle against Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia in group A while Burkina Faso, Cameroon, South Africa and Egypt will be in group B.

Defending champions Senegal will be alongside Gambia, Somalia, Gambia and Tunisia in group C.

Mali, Angola, Ivory Coast and Central Africa Republic will be battling each other in group D.

The tournament also serves as a FIFA World Cup qualifier with Africa set to be represented by 10 teams at the newly expanded showpiece set to take place in Qatar later this year.
