An inspiring documentary film rooted in African ethos, ‘ The Spirit of Ubuntu’ is set to Premiere tomorrow in Harare. The documentary is deeply inspired by the philosophy of Ubuntu, a rallying cry for Africans.

In an interview with Ziyah News Network, one of the coordinators for the production, Moses Machipisa, said the documentary is grounded in the foundations of Ubuntu in practice.

‘Ubuntu, a concept from Africa emphasizes our interconnectedness and the importance of community. We are shaped by our relationships with others, and true growth comes from supporting one another.  Witnessing the power of Ubuntu in action and the positive impact it can have on the world is what truly motivated this project, “said Machipisa.

“The Spirit of Ubuntu”  delves on,  going deep into the  this philosophy of Ubuntu .It explores the social, ethical, and moral aspects of Ubuntu, showcasing real-life examples of how it plays out in communities across Africa. The central theme is the transformative power of Ubuntu, highlighting how this concept can be applied to heal divisions, foster peace, and create a more harmonious world.

“Our hope is that “The Spirit of Ubuntu” will spark conversations, inspire action, and ultimately contribute to a more compassionate and peaceful world. We envision the documentary being used as an educational tool to promote Ubuntu’s values across generations and cultures.

According to Machipisa, the title directly reflects the documentary’s core focus.

“Ubuntu encapsulates the essence of what we want to convey: the interconnectedness of humanity and the importance of fostering a spirit of community and compassion. We believe Ubuntu is a gift from Africa to the world, offering a powerful framework to address the complex challenges we face,” he added.

 Content for the documentary was curated from 10 African countries namely Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Senegal, Rwanda, Nigeria and Uganda. In that regard, the documentary film will be premiered in those 10 countries.
