Award-winning South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest has ignited outrage on social media after confessing in his latest track, “Emotions,” that he is a deadbeat dad and that his son, Khotso, is growing up without his presence.
In the emotionally charged song, Cassper reveals that he has been estranged from Khotso, prompting fans to question whether his former partner, Thobeka Majozi, is preventing him from being involved in their son’s life. This revelation comes on the heels of a difficult period when Majozi accused the rapper of infidelity while Khotso was battling cancer.
The rapper’s admission has sparked intense discussions online, with many users criticizing his actions and questioning his motives. Some called for Cassper to take legal action rather than making public statements, while others urged him to prioritize spending time with his son instead of airing grievances in the media.
The online community expressed strong opinions about Cassper’s revelation:
“He was absent when the little boy was battling cancer. He left the mother on her own to care for his son who had cancer! Cancer!! Just imagine that?” one user remarked.
Another commented, “Your son spends time with your parents and family, and you say you don’t have access? Deadbeats need shambok. He can easily get access through his family, excuse after excuse.”
The controversy continues to unfold as fans demand accountability from the rapper, who has long been a celebrated figure in the South African music scene and a role model for many.
