Businessman Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu are seeking to have their fraud trial restarted, claiming that new assessors have not been present during the initial stages of the case.

Their defense team argues that the trial cannot move forward effectively without assessors who have been involved from the outset.

On the other hand, the prosecution is resisting this request and insists that the trial should continue as planned.

The judge has postponed the proceedings until March 21, instructing the defense to submit their official application by March 19 and the prosecution to provide their counterarguments by March 20.
