The High Court of Zimbabwe, presided over by Justice Benjamin Chikowero, has granted bail to human rights activists Samuel Gwenzi,(39) Namatai Kwekweza (25), and Robson Chere (40), on Wednesday 04 September following their July 31 arrest.

The Trio was freed on US$150 bail, on conditions that they report to the police once every month, refrain from interfering with state witnesses, and maintain residency at the addresses they provided to the court.

Their lawyer, Charles Kwaramba of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, has confirmed.

The three trio were detained just minutes before boarding a Fastjet flight to Victoria Falls, after being ordered off the plane at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

Police allege that the activists participated in an illegal protest outside the Harare Magistrates Court on June 27, expressing solidarity with over 70 members of the Citizens Coalition for Change who were appearing in court.
