A grade 7 learner died on the spot after being hit by a motorist who later dumped the body and the vehicle in question at Chitungwiza hospital.
The motorist is alleged to have hit the deceased, carried the body and dumped at the Hospital.The matter is being treated as a hit and run incident as confirmed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police..
The Zimbabwean Police have launched a man hunt for the driver involved in the incident confirming investigations are underway in the matter.
“ZRP Mbare is investigating a hit and run fatal road traffic accident in which a grade 7 learner (13) died after being hit by an unknown motorist by who was driving a Nisaan Caravan kombi registration number AGZ 0118 along the new Chitungwiza Road.
The driver abandoned the vehice and the victim’s body at Chitungwiza Hospital before fleeing to an unknown location and Zimbabwean Police is encouraging the public that anyone with information must report at any nearest Police Station.
Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Themba Nyathi urged motorists to stop and assist victims in case of an accident.
“ The ZRP reiterates that motorists must stop, provide first aid and report all road traffic accidents to the police,”said the Police Spokesperson Commissioner Nyathi.
