President Emmerson Mnangagwa, officially inaugurated the Harvest House International Conference Center in the Selbourne Brooke suburb of Bulawayo yesterday. The Center will serve as the headquarters for the Harvest House International Church, founded by Bishop Collin Nyathi.
During the commissioning ceremony, President Mnangagwa underlined the essential role of the church in the development of the nation, recognizing its diverse contributions to society.
“My Government has always cherished the role of the church in nation building as the church is a key partner with multi-dimensional responsibilities. These include prayers, petitions, and intercessions for us leaders in Governmental authority,” he stated.
The President also called upon the religious community to extend its influence into Zimbabwe’s rural areas, aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030, which seeks to promote sustainable development and inclusivity.
“In line with Vision 2030, I challenge you to plant more churches in rural areas. No one and no place should be left behind. The gospel should be preached to all our people wherever they are, as it was in the early church,” he urged.
Emphasizing cultural pride, Mnangagwa affirmed the need to maintain Zimbabwean and African identities while advancing the gospel.
“In advancing the gospel, let’s remain proud of our identities and heritage as Zimbabweans and Africans,” he said.
The commissioning of the Harvest House International Conference offers a venue not only for church gatherings but also for broader community engagement initiatives.
Community leaders and church representatives present at the event expressed their gratitude for the President’s backing and reaffirmed their commitment to developing rural areas through spiritual outreach and engagement. The ceremony concluded with a rallying call for all Zimbabweans to unite in their efforts to spread the gospel and contribute to national growth.
