Doek and Slay, a renowned brand has issued a statement distancing itself from an unauthorized event held in Cape Town on February 23, 2025.
The event used a similar name and concept to the established Doek and Slay brand, causing potential confusion among the brand’s valued community.
“We are deeply disappointed by the unauthorized use of our concept and any potential confusion this may have caused our valued community, ” said the brand owners in a statement.
The owners who claim the rights to event Doek and Slay denounced the event saying they own the event name & trademark.
“We wish to unequivocally state that this event had absolutely no affiliation with our official Doek and Slay organization.”
The brand reassures its loyal attendees and partners that it is committed to maintaining the integrity of its unique and carefully curated experience.
“The continued support of our loyal attendees and partners is highly appreciated, and currently we do not have any intentions to host our events in Cape town, South Africa.”
Doek and Slay further warns the public to be cautious of unauthorized events and to verify authenticity through their official platforms.
“Please be aware that any events not officially advertised on our official platforms are not associated with us.”
The event was attended by hundreds of women from South Africa mainly Zimbabwean nationals dressed in colourful outfits and jewellery.
