UNDERCOVER policemen from Harare have nabbed one of their own in a sting pre-dawn raid at a lodge outside town where their coleague allegedly had some drugs.
The cop, name supplied, allegedly had 25 cobs of dagga with an approximate weight of 40 kilograms and 200x100ml (20 Litres) banned broncleer cough syrup.
According to information received by this publication on July 19, 2026 at around 0400 hours at a lodge at Chicago Village, Beitbridge a team comprising five police officers from Police General Headquarters ambushed the cops attached to CID Drugs.
The cop identified as Constable John Mashoko (37) was with Beitbridge District Hospital nurse Tawanda Kumbirai with whom he rested for the night at the lodge.
As they were going out at 4AM the five cops pounced arresting Mashoko whose service number has been given as 078467P of aged 37 of house number 465 Baobab Road, Beitbridge.
The two were placed under arrest and the drugs were seized under as exhibits numbered by police as 39/26 and 40/26.
The recovered drugs has a street value of US$5 000-00.
Both Mashoko and Kumbirai were taken to Harare under Beitbridge Rural CR 26/07/26.
