Dulibadzimu United were held to a 1-1 draw by ZRP Gwanda in match day 6 of the Central Region Soccer League at Dulibadzimu Stadium, Beitbridge, as they dropped points for the first time in four matches.
Dulis went behind on the stroke of half time conceding on the 45th minute when ZRP Gwanda ‘s Brighton Magiliza capitalised on Dulibadzimu ‘s horrible defensive mistake and slot home to give the policeman a lead.
Just as the fans were about to resign to a loss, Benedict Sithole found the back of the net with a header, securing a point for Dulis in the 90th minute, thanks to set piece assist from Patrick Kelly Muleya.
After the match, Dulis captain Oscar Muzezani said that his despite fighting back to earn a point, it was not enough for them, as the team looked to maintain a winning run and secure maximum 3 points.
“I think each and every match that we play, we aim to secure three points and it was very unfortunate for us to draw at home. Of course it was a challenging match but we always look forward to correct our mistakes in the next match and we hope to redeem ourselves as a team and secure maximum points in the next encounter,” said Muzezanir.
A 1-1 draw to ZRP Gwanda left the Beitbridge outfit sitting on position 4 with 13 points level with Gwanda Pirates who are ahead courtesy of better goal difference, behind of Hard Rock FC and construction boys Sheasham with 16 points each.While ZRP Gwanda sits on position 6 with 9 points after match day 6.
Elsewhere, fellow Beitbridge side, Bishopstone FC hwere held to a 0-0 stalemate at Mutshato stadium by Jame West.
In another notable fixture, debutants Gwanda Pirates narrowly defeated Dinson Mvuma by 1-0 at Phelandaba Stadium.
