Dulibadzimu United faced a challenging 2-0 defeat at home on Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2024, at their home ground, leaving fans disappointed.
Coach Never Malunga’s team struggled to find their rhythm against West Nicholson FC, who capitalized on their opportunities throughout the match.
From the outset, West Nicholson, also known as the Mazambane Boys, applied significant pressure on Dulivhadzimu.
The pivotal moment occurred in the first 15 minutes of the second half when the talented Mazithulela Tyson netted the second goal, making it increasingly challenging for Dulibadzimu to regain their composure.
In reflecting on his team’s performance, Malunga expressed concern over Dulibadzimu’s inability to sustain their play in critical matches.
“Our players lost focus after conceding the two goals. This is football; we experience both wins and losses. However, I believe there is considerable room for improvement among our players,” Malunga noted.
West Nicholson coach Tavengwa Chafa emphasised the significance of this victory for his team and its supporters.
“I am certainly pleased with the result. Although we did not showcase our best performance, we achieved a positive outcome. It is gratifying for our players to demonstrate their appreciation to our supporters,” Chafa commented.
Following the match, tensions escalated among the Dulivhadzimu United fans, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance. Many called for the coach to consider incorporating younger players into the lineup, particularly energetic talents like Ronaldinho Muleya, who remained on the bench and could potentially enhance the team’s overall performance.
