Zimbabwe has revealed a dynamic 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers in Kenya this month, emphasizing youth in its strategy.
The team includes uncapped all-rounder Tashinga Musekiwa and fast bowler Tinotenda Maposa, alongside the return of Trevor Gwandu.
Under new head coach Justin Sammons, the squad averages 26 years in age, with experienced Sikandar Raza captaining the side.
Eleven players from the recent series against India are retained, as Zimbabwe aims for one of the top two spots to advance to the regional final against Namibia and Uganda for a chance to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Selectors’ convener David Mutendera expressed confidence in the squad’s potential, highlighting the need to nurture emerging talent.
Musekiwa and Maposa are seen as key players, with promising domestic performances backing their selection. Zimbabwe is set for an exciting challenge in the qualifiers, blending experience and youthful talent.
