Zimbabwe ‘s Warriors face underdogs Mauritius in the COSAFA Cup 2025 match day 1, today in Bloemfoutain, with fans rallying behind the team to secure maximum points.
Following their 2018 triumph and third placed finish in 2019, fans hope to witness the Warriors bouncing back to reclaim the COSAFA glory.
“ it’s a must win game, there is no chance or what ever excuses the team could give us when they face an opponent like Mauritius, yes they are not an easy opponent but it’s a must win,”one fan stated.
The Warriors will look to kick start their campaign on a positive note before facing regional rivals, South Africa.
Elsewhere, South Africa ‘s Banyana Banyana defeated, Zambia ‘s Copper Queens 2-0 yesterday.
The clash between the two Southern African women soccer giants was serving as a preparatory one for the Woman’s Africa Cup of Nations 2024 which kicks off in 30 days time.
