A 42-year-old man from Karoi has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 2 years suspended, for the rape of his 14-year-old daughter. He was convicted and sentenced by the Karoi Magistrates’ Court.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the incident occurred one night when the victim was asleep in her room with her younger sister.
The accused entered the room and forcibly took his daughter to his bedroom, where he raped her.
Following the assault, the accused instructed the complainant not to disclose the abuse, and she complied. He continued to sexually assault her on multiple occasions.
The truth came to light when the victim became pregnant. She eventually confided in her mother, prompting a police report that led to the father’s arrest.
