The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)has announced the successful arrest of five individuals in connection with illegal possession of raw ivory and protected species parts near the Victoria Falls truck stop.
The suspects, identified as Lizwelibanzi Ndlovu (42), Philani Ndlovu (29), Makhosini Sibanda (30), Shoti Shoko (53), and Michael Muleya (32), were apprehended in a bushy area close to the tourist hotspot.
The arrests follow a police operation based on intelligence indicating illegal wildlife trade activities in the area.
During the operation, officers uncovered pieces of ivory and pangolin scales, which the suspects reportedly intended to sell to potential buyers.
