Police officers from the CID Drugs and Narcotics Unit arrested Shadreck Butiro, a 38-year-old truck driver, on Tuesday for unlawful possession of cannabis, commonly known as dagga.
The arrest followed a tip-off that led officers to intercept Butiro’s truck at the Beitbridge Border Post. A thorough search of the vehicle was conducted, during which authorities discovered approximately 31 kilograms of dagga concealed on the truck’s bed.
Butiro was promptly detained and taken into custody for further questioning.
The seized narcotics have been confiscated as evidence, and investigations into the source and intended destination of the shipment are underway.
Meanwhile on the 28 may 2025 CID Nacrotics, Mutare acted on received information and recovered several veterinary medicines from a company which was operating under name, Chinosagrifeeds Pvt Ltd.
The company was operating without licence along Herbert Chitepo Street, Mutare.
