A Shackleton Mine man has been jailed after being convicted of malicious to property which belonged to his father.
Knowledge Jani (21) allegedly destroyed his father’s house and car after accusing his parents of causing his sickness. The accused was arraigned and convicted by b the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), reports that the complainants in the, matter are the accused person’s father and stepmother.
It is said Knowledge Jani went to the complainants place and accused them of causing his sickness. He destroyed his father’s Nissan Sunny and drained some fuel from the vehicle, which he used to set the house and vehicle on fire
Property worth USD14000 was subsequently destroyed
The accused person was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment of which 1 year was suspended on condition of good behaviour leaving with an effective three year prison term.
