Popular South African, sangoma Gogo Maweni has been released on R5,000 bail after a brief appearance at the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto yesterday. Her case has been postponed to February 11, 2025.
Gogo Maweni whose birth name is Makgotso Lee Anne Makopo, is a 38 year old reality TV star and social media influencer.She is facing a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
She was arrested on January 19, 2025, in connection with an assault incident that allegedly occurred on 17 December 2019 in Dlamini Soweto.
Gogo Maweni, used a bottle to assault the complainant, striking her on the mouth.
The state prosecutor says the accused has four previous convictions against her dating back to 2015.
